I weigh 170 pounds and was seated on this bench, while it was in the upraised position and it suddenly collapsed to the lower level position. It happened once again while my fingers were on the edge of the seat. It could have caused serious injury to me had my fingers been a little further over edge of the seat. If you do buy it, keep it in the lowest position.
